Eldorado is a located in the county seat of Schleicher County, Texas. The city grew rapidly as a result of the land rushes which took place in Schleicher County in the early part of the nineteenth century and it flourished as a commercial center for area ranchers. The city of Eldorado also became the region's principal wool-processing center.
